This lesson first started after the death of Martin Luther King, when she was watching the speeches about who is going to step up to be the black man's leader. Shedid not like the arrogance of the white man speaking. She wanted to teach her students what it is like to live in the black man's shoes. The exercise that Jane did with her students wasn’t discriminated by the color of their skin cause it was a all white town, but instead by the color of their eyes. The first day of the project she seperated the class by blue-eyed kids and brown-eyed kids. Blue-eyed were superior, they got five extra minutes of recess, and first to go to lunch, got seconds at lunch, were told they were cleaner, smarter, civilized, and most important not allowed to play with the brown-eyed kids. While the blue-eyed kids were superior, the
