Unit VIII Scholarly Activity: Marketing Metrics When setting up a marketing plan, there has an understanding of the concept of marketing metrics. There are five metrics and they consist of the sales metrics, customer readiness to by metrics, customer metrics, distribution metrics, and communication metrics. Within each of these metrics there are subcomponents that need to be addressed and understood in order for the marketing plan to be successful. The first metrics to be addressed will be the sales metrics subcomponent, market share. The market share is the portion of the market that is controlled by a certain business or a product (Kotler & Keller, 2012). Understanding who is the part of the market share in the computer repair industry will definitely help Computer Fixers be successful. Also, when it comes to the market share, realizing that this market is an ever-changing industry and grows at an alarming rate will also help Computer Fixers gain an edge in the market share. In the Seattle, there are a variety of computer repair shops, with Best Buy’s Geek Squad being the largest competitor. The computer repair market is currently dominated by the original equipment manufacturers. These are companies that come out and do house repairs on the same product they produce. Computer Fixers have to also be aware of software and operating system updates, which they don’t have any control over. This makes customer service hard to predict and makes it come in spurts. The
