Population – 25.4 million Ethnic Groups Arabs (about 75%), Kurds (about 20%), Other (about 5%) Religious Groups Shiite Muslims (60-65%), Sunni Muslim (30-#5%), Other (3- 7%) Currency – 1,522 dinars = $1 (1 March 005) Capital – Baghdad Prime Minister – Nouri al-Maliki Shiite are the majority in Iraq, but the Sunni are the majority in the Arab world.
