Mark FloresPeriod 4 English 1030 September 2017Report on Misery by Stephen King (351)In the book Misery by Stephen King, the main protagonist is Paul Sheldon. Stephen Kingportrays Paul as a famous author known for his romance novels and is smart but also somewhat of a pessimist. His most well-known series called the “Misery Chastain” series is one where many of his fan base love. There is not really a key supporting character in the story as the amount of characters in this story are small. Even though there are some characters that intervenein the story like the police officer, that would’ve help Paul but got killed instantly. However, the antagonist, Annie Wilkes, was somewhat of a supporting character to Paul as she kept Paul alive after his tragic car accident and actually loving him sometimes. Like before, the main antagonist, Annie Wilkes is Paul’s worst nightmare. She is a former nurse but also a complete psychopath with personality disorders. From her background, she nursing job was horrible as she may or may not have killed her patients because she was not found guilty for their deaths. Her history of killing patients was ignored as those patients were already injured to the point where they were almost dead. She is also described as not having too many women like characteristics. These twocharacters make up the entire story, with small characters jumping in during the story but usuallyare useless.
