Discussion 2: "Young Goodman Brown"Most people would admit to knowing at least one individual that has experienced issueswith either doubt, faith, or trust, if not all three. In fact, I would be willing to bet that most of mypeers have been one of these individual themselves, because I most certainly have. Events, outcomes, and the people I have encountered, especially their actions and/or behaviors have leftme dismayed, appalled and even puzzled at times. In the short story “Young Goodman Brown” by Nathaniel Hawthorne, I believe themain focus of the story is centered around faith and not the character, but the quality and/orbelief of the struggles that Goodman Brown encountered on his journey. In this story, Goodmanencounters many people and situations in which take a toll on not only the person he becomesalong the way, but also causes him to doubt his faith. The people, events, places that haveplayed a role in creating and changing him are now a distant memory but have had a lastingeffect.
