The leader has a responsibility tosupport their team member include hiring, training and scheduling to goal setting. My leaderrole model is miss Tu Anh - a leader of the media team from Enactus club. Her role ismanage the media team, approve the content and check the picture before the team posts itin the social network. This assignment will be written up about the leadership style and1
characteristics of miss Tu Anh through my observation and interview with her. Myobservation is due to the time that I have a chance to work with her before, she is an activeleader with creative thinking, inspiring and always support her team members as much asshe can.II.Body1.Observation The leadership traits theory identifies the different personality traits and characteristicsthat are related to effective and successful leadership through variety situation to understandabout leader’s behavior include big five personality traits: Openness to experience,Conscientiousness, Extroversion, Agreeableness, Neuroticism are also known as theacronym OCEAN. Miss Tu Anh is believed to be an effective leader after she took the TraitTheory of Leadership Survey, the survey state that Tu Anh is the people who is very kind andfriendly to people around her, she also performs very well in creative with new ideas andthinks outside the box. Based on this theory, her personality is realized that it was consistentwith “openness to experience” traits in OCEAN, it means that she always be willing to gainmore experience and soft skill to be a successful leader. Moreover, her openness toexperience trait is weakly related to neuroticism and extroversion traits and least likely tochange overtime (Ones, Viswesvaran, & Reiss, 1996). In fact, openness to experience hasbeen described as the depth and complexity of an individual’s mental life and experiences(John & Srivastava, 1999). To understand the leader’s behavior, the Ohio State University identify observablebehaviors of leaders instead of focusing on their individual traits ( Ohio State University1945). The research indicated that the people-oriented leaders are focusing their behaviorson ensuring that the inner needs of the people are satisfied. The Ohio studies identified twomain types of leader behavior: Consideration (people-oriented) and Initiating (task-oriented).The people-oriented leaders are focusing their behaviors on ensuring that the inner needs ofthe people are satisfied (Ohio State University 1945). Miss Tu Anh was able to support andempower others even she still focuses on to achieve the best result, she leads their team toachieve the goals in difference mean with the task-oriented leaders, encourage and listen to
