Name Rileigh Nyce Course CWV-101 Date 3/13/19 Instructor Bagley Benchmark - Gospel Essentials Religion is immensely involved in the world we currently live in. Christianity is one of the most dominating religions and that is shown throughout history. The gospels of God and Jesus have been taught for centuries and have been translated across a multitude of cultures. Christianity illustrates human nature, flaws, and purpose in alliance with God and Jesus. Like every worldview, Christianity has its own set of strengths, weaknesses, and influences. Religion is a way of life and it influences its followers in a very major way. Christianity has a lot of similarities with other worldviews but still has its distinguishing characteristics that sets itself apart from other religions and faiths. In this essay, I will answer questions surrounding the characteristics and identity of God, human nature and purpose, the entirety of Jesus and His teachings, a Christian worldview’s solutions to restoration, the strengths, deficiencies, and influence of Christian beliefs, as well as compare a Christian worldview to my own. God The word “God” is known across every worldview whether He is believed in or not. Who or what is God? The Bible describes “God to be Spirit” (“What Is God Like?”). God is not limited to a body but still has flesh and bones. He has always existed and is almighty, all powerful, all knowledgeable, and provides wisdom. God is good, gracious, holy, eternal, un-changeable, omnipotent, omnipresent, and the holy trinity (“Attributes of God in Christianity”). God is a very clear image. He in essence is all good, all knowing, all powerful, and omnipresent. He embodies everything around us. God created everything. He created us in his image, and He created everything we see around us. God is the almighty being that is the reason we are here today. Humanity Human nature in the Christian worldview can differ across other views. According to Christianity, human nature “reflects some of God’s attributes” (“What Is Human Nature?”). Since God created us in His own image, humans do share similar qualities. While humans may not be perfect or even half-good consistently, God gave humans his characteristics of goodness and morality. Human nature did fall to sin but someone can be saved from it once they accept God as their refuge. The Bible illustrates human purpose throughout various gospels. Human
