FEMINIST THEORY 2 Feminist Theory Feminist theory is the extension of feminism into theoretical, fictional, or philosophical discourse. Feminist theory originated in the late 1800 and were in connections with the women’s movement. Women stood together to proclaim their resentment due to the nature of what a traditional female role was. Feminist theory emphasized the problems in a sociopolitical and cultural context rather than on an individual level. It recognized that the clients knew what was best for their lives. And it also strives to create therapeutic relationships that promotes equality in society. Feminist theory is aimed at both personal and social change and is not static but always evolving and maturing.
