The following are qualities of a mediator (McGuigan, 2009).Trustworthiness. A good mediator should be trusted by both parties who want tocome into an agreement. This makes the parties to talk openly about all the issue because they know that the mediator would not disclose their issues to the public (Bowling &Hoffoman 2000).Perceptiveness. The parties involved in a dispute expects quick resolution on their disputes. Therefore a mediator should be able to quickly understand the complexities and provide a clear understanding and provide a solution acceptable to both parties (McGuigan, 2009).Impartial. Some feelings emerge amongst the parties after the final solution has been reached. Mediator should be in a position to control their feelings and emotions.
