Thus, he developed this experiment to test thenature of human and how having an “authority” impact a person’s action in terms of hurtinganother person. The procedure of the study is in the following: 40 males were selectedrandomly from New Haven through newspaper advertisement. One subject, who play the roleas a teacher, would come in with an actor, a 47-year-old accountant, who play the role as avictim. The subject was asked to ask questions to the victim, and every time the victim got ananswer incorrect, the teacher has to increase the electric shock voltage to punish the student.
