Running Head: TIME MANAGEMENT PLAN 1 Time Management Plan Alexandra Foster Walden University
TIME MANAGEMENT PLAN 2 Time Management Plan Laying the Foundation (Goals) I have identified three big-picture goals for my life. They are to move up the career ladder, achieve strong financial security, and to teach doctoral courses in business administration. As discussed in my Professional Development Plan, I know that my strengths of organization and time-management will allow me to be successful in my goal setting, as well as achievement. My first goal includes my desire to obtainin a managerial position at an electric cooperative; hopefully a Chief Executive Officer position. My second goal includes achieving financial security for a good retirement. My third goal includes obtaining a doctoral teaching position at an online university (Foster, 2017). Self-Analysis I feel that my greatest strengths are in my organizational and time management skills. Juggling this course, my family, my work and everything else life throws at you will be difficult to say the least. I know that I will be able to embrace this change and accept that it is for the better. I believe that all of my strengths are going to allow me to succeed in my courses at Walden and I will be able to successfully handle home, work and school (Foster, 2017). I feel that my greatest weaknesses stem from some of my strengths. Sometimes I take on too much. I am also not very good at telling people no. These weaknesses could hinder my education if I get too much on my plate. I will have to be able to say no to certain things in order to set aside time for my schooling (Foster, 2017). I have some great opportunities that can help me to be successful in this program. My schedule is very predictable. I work 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. every day and my work is very willing
TIME MANAGEMENT PLAN 3 to support my schooling. I will be able to work on homework on my lunch period if I wish. I am committed to achieving any goals that I set for myself. If I say I am going to do something, I always do it. I have committed to this program, and I know that I will see it through (Foster, 2017). My threats to success in this program include the fact that my daughter is two months old. I want more than anything to give her the world. My greatest fear is that this program will interfere with our time together. I know that it will have an effect on it, but I also know that I am trying to do this to better her life in the future as well. Finally, I am not very good at asking for help. I like to take on all the responsibility for myself sometimes and this is something that can threaten my education if I do not overcome it (Foster, 2017). Personal Style and Preferences Time Management System Design What’s Working No matter how busy I get, I always find time for my family. I have a loving fiancé and a beautiful daughter and they are truly my entire world. Making time for them is my number one priority, because they are the ones who will always be there for me. I am very good at goal
