Personal Reflection Paper
There are many advantages to group therapy, being convenient and economic are only a
few of examples. Group therapy is convenient because it provides all members a safe and
respectful environment. The following paper will provide the most significant fundamentals the
writer has learned in this course, most significant things that the writer has learned about herself
as a potential group leader. The paper will offer this author particular competencies and
experiences that want to increase so that it will be a knowledgeable group counselor, in addition
to her finest self-assurance and regions of opportunity while leading a counseling group.
furthermore, the theoretical foundation that the writer is most attracted to and the sorts of
agencies that the author might experience main within the future as a counselor.
Most significant subject learned
The most significant topic this writer has learned in this course is the importance of a
group leader. The role of a group leader is not only to ease all conversations or to make
connections within members, but also to help the members by providing support, solutions, and
to engage with all members. As a facilitator, the group leader will provide guidance, coping
mechanisms that assist all members with stressors, establish and encourage members to take
actions to achieve their goals. The leader needs to ensure that they use verbal, nonverbal
techniques, as well as structured exercises.
Additional things that this author learned about group counseling in this course are the
different types of groups available. Before this course the author thought that the best way to
conduct group therapy was through psychoeducational therapy. This course opened another
world, such as the group counseling interventions, psychotherapy, and task facilitation groups. It
