Brooks Reierson 1/23/19 1. Summarize what you learned from the chapter regarding Illumination Theory, Visibility and Illuminance in one or two paragraphs. Illumination theory is a very complicated process with the light rays passing through the pupil, the cornea and lens. The clarity of vision comes from the visibility that as three critical factors visual angle, contrast and illuminance which is the most important one. There is a range of illuminances low (- 1), middle (0) and high (+1). Illumination are usually measured by a light meter but illuminance is done measured with a photometer. 2. Why don't food manufacturers make blue margarine? Appeal to the appetite 3. Describe and explain the fundamental equation of wave propagation. C=sound velocity (1125 ft/s) f= frequency (Hz h(looks like something else) = wavelength (ft) As the wavelength increases the frequency decreases. 4. Present and describe the heat balance equation and discuss why it is important. S=M+-C+-R-E M = Heat gain of metabolism C = Heat gain or lost due to convection

### What students are saying

• As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

Kiran Temple University Fox School of Business ‘17, Course Hero Intern

• I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

Dana University of Pennsylvania ‘17, Course Hero Intern

• The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
