ETHICAL RESEARCH IN SOCIAL SCIENCES 2 Ethical Research in Social Sciences Upon interaction with many cases in relation to ethical research in social sciences, the most blatant example of contravention of ideal ethical conduct in researching the social sciences is that of Professor Hwang Woo-suk. Woo-suk was a biotechnology and theriogenology professor at the Seoul National University. Mr. Woo-suk conducted many experiments in the field of stem cell studies. His works were often published in high profile magazines and websites owing to his rank in research at that time. In one of his studies of 2004, he claimed to have successfully created human embryonic stem cells through cloning process and the finding was published in the ‘Science', a medical research journal.
