STUDENT NURSE CLINICAL PACKET ATTENTION ALL BSN STUDENTS : The following documents are required prior to attending clinical orientation. It is imperative that the required health & safety information be collected ASAP. You must attend at least one mandatory Clinical Packet Information session, to be announced. If you have any questions, please contact the Manager, Clinical Education or Nursing Administration. Completion of the CLINICAL PACKET is MANDATORY. Clinical Packets are required health and safety records per the hospitals and part of the Skills Lab-- Nursing 101L OR 210LB course and are due in week 9 of Term 6 before you start the nursing courses in Term 7, Nursing 101L OR 210LB. An incomplete clinical packet jeopardizes entering Term 7 and further disciplinary action which will result in a delay of you starting Nrsg 100 /101L or 200 /210Land not been eligible to participate in clinical training. IMPORTANT: MAKE A CLEAR / LEGIBLE COPY OF ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTS. Please place one complete set of original documents in RED folder provided, and complete copied set in BLUE folder. The BLUE folder will be retained by WCU providing required documentation to health care facilities. The RED folder shall contain original documents and be kept with student. The folder shall be kept with the student at all times during clinical and will be the needed proof provided to clinical instructor and agency if and when questions arise. Please contact Student Services for a photo ID badge if you do not already have one. B. Place copy of ID badge for placement in red and blue folders 3. Drug Screening: A. Only US HealthWorks can provide this service B. You CAN use any US HealthWorks nearest you that provides the tests you need, remember to present them with the HealthWorks Authorization form. C. To find the closest site go to: D. Follow Directions on the HealthWorks Authorization form in this packet E. Take the HealthWorks Authorization form from this packet along with a photo ID F. West Coast University pays for drug screening service ONLY. *G. Sometimes there is a wait period for this service, if you sign-in and then leave the test site, your drug screening automatically becomes a positive test . H. You must collect a receipt of testing when you complete to submit as evidence of completed testing with your clinical packet. 4. Student Malpractice Insurance: A. Log onto and follow the directions. B. The certificate must read ‘ REGISTERED NURSE STUDENT’ with minimum coverage 1million dollars per occurrence /3 million dollars aggregate per WCU Nursing Student Handbook.
