Realism was an artistic movement in the 19th century around the work of artist Gustave Courbet, before that the romantic period produced work that idealized reality, the landscapes were more beautiful, emotions exaggerated and the bodies were perfected. The movement grew with the invention of photography because the artist were able to look at reality in a split moment of time and paint based of photos than posed models 2. What is Magical Realism? Define with specific details. Magic Realism was a reaction to realism. The term was introduced by Franz Roh, a German art critic in 1925, which stated that he meant to make another category that strayed from the strict guidelines of magic realism. The story must be set in a realistic environment with magical elements, it blurs the lines by adding in elements. 3. Magical Realism was based in which part(s) of the world?
