2IntroductionChesapeake IT Consultant has been successful in providing IT consulting services to thecustomers. In the today’s highly competitive business environment, our goal is to employ bestpossible consultants with high business skill and adaptive to new ideas and technology. Amid theexpectation to win two upcoming projects, CIC is in need to hire additional 75 consultants todeliver the best possible result to its customers. However, the HR is concerned of its currentmanual process of recruiting and hiring employees; which poses the big challenge due to timeconstraint and requirement of more resources. A new hiring system is pivotal for CIC to run thebusiness smoothly and compete with the rivals in the market. An applicant tracking system/Application is not only a solution but also very necessary in this highly competitive andtechnological era. With the initiation of applicant tracking system, Chesapeake will meet its goalto hire best consultants from around the world to achieve growth and increased hiringrequirements.Strategic Use of TechnologyA. Organizational Strategy: Organizational strategy basically is a roadmap for long-termgrowth plan. Organizational strategies are dynamic and likely to change as the time goes on(Pearson, n. d.). By Incorporating new hiring system, organization can be benefited with efficientand effective hiring process which will cut the time and resources. It is not only beneficial fororganization but also for applicants who can track their status, get notification and planaccordingly.
3B.Competitive Advantage:The market is tough. Large consulting firms such as Booz AllanHamilton (BAH) and Science Application International Corporation (SAIC) are already the bigthreats for CIC. Also, the small consulting firms are emerging with skill sets and stablishedcustomer bases. Amid of the competitive market environment, CIC needs to plan carefully forthe future strategy. New hiring system will contribute to smooth the hiring process. It will help tostore, distribute and analyze the applicants’ information and with hassle-free access. It is going tobe easily accessible and shorten the hiring process in comparison to manual hiring process. Intoday’s competitive era, installing or purchasing latest technology itself will not make companysuccessful; but the combination of good management and right technology together can make ahuge difference (Bourgeois, 2014, Ch.7).C.Strategic Objectives:CIC vows to provide high quality consultants to successfully completethe awarded projects as well as increase the CIC’s reputation in the IT market place; it also aimsto build a cadre of international consultants which will provide remote research and analysis foron-site clientele. The table below illustrates CIC’s strategic goal and current objective.
