Individual PerceptionsIndividuals’ views and ascription effect how they perform in their organization. Individuals’ views or perception defines the way we sift, categorize, and comprehend carnal data or news. Ascription clarifies individuals behave, deciding how we respond to the behaviors of others as well. Effective perception lets employees comprehend what they see and hear in the working environment effectively to make decisions, finish assignments, and act in an ethical manner. Bad perceptions can contribute to conflict in the workplace (Duggan, n.d). Additionally, there are various ways that a person can perceive a situation in the work environment that can lead to problems. For example, the following can occur among employees in the workplace daily: fundamental attribution error, self-serving bias, selective perception, projection, stereotyping, and the halo effect (Catenacci, 2017).Moving forward, when dealing with conflicts, I feel that taking individual perceptions into consideration in conflict management is pivotal.
