A. Chantelle Cornet ENG102-04-OLC-1819-2 - English Composition II 8/20/18 MLA Rules of Thumb Look at the rules for MLA documentation style on pps 118-27, 130-4, and 139-44. Use the information you find there to complete this worksheet (3pts each/ 5pts total). 1) What is a signal phrase and what information does it include? A signal phrase names the author of the other writer whose work you included in your own writing; as well as provides some context for the source material. A signal phrase includes the authors name, title, and credential’s or experience. 2) When do you need a signal phrase? You need a signal phrase whenever you include a paraphrase, summary, or direct quotation of another writer’s work in your paper. You do not need a signal phrase when citing a specific fact or statistic. Write three rules about how to integrate a source based on the samples on pps. 130-4 and 139-44. One must describe how to do in-text citations and one must deal with works cited pages. The third rule is up to you.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
