Three stages of protracted war 1. Enemy on strategic offense- a. Guerilla warfare b. moving in and occupying territory c. Defensive trading land for time d. Must consolidate land 2. Enemy on strategic defense a. –Mobile Warfare! b. Protect consolidated land c. Convince the peasants that they are better off with you ruling d. Pick your next battle e. Prepare to concentrate 3. “We” go on strategic offensive a. Mobile warfare and then to positional warfare
