In the Industry the best way to excel in customer service is to build relationships with the customers. Honestly, this is the #1 most important thing for a retailer to do no matter what. Except maybe have products to sell. Building relationships doesn’t mean that the customer, and employee have to hang out all the time and go on dates and stuff. It goes as far as the surface level like names, what’d that customer do that day, what are their plans for the rest of the day, building a small trust between customer, and employee. Building relationships should be apart of the sales process from the moment the customer approaches an employee until the moment they leave also engaging with a multitude of employees, and hopefully the relationship that the customer builds would provide an accepting environment making them want to come back from more product, or services.
