03-27-2007 Anxiety Disorder Anxiety disorders are a class of disorders marked by the feelings of excessive apprehension and anxiety. Symptoms- Dizziness, problems focusing, headaches, sweating, nervousness 1. Generalized Anxiety Disorder- interferes with your life, you struggle to get your work done, life makes you nervous, you don’t feel good, you aren’t confident. Not a specific thing. 2. Phobic Disorder- subject feels anxiety around a specific object like height, or spiders, or bridges. 3. Panic Disorder and Agoraphobia- Fear of having a panic attack causes panic attacks to occur, it feels like a heart or asthma attack. Agoraphobia is people who fear leaving their homes. It isn’t uncommon. People just feel safe at home. 4. Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder- attempt to feel safe and secure by staying on top of your problem, by thinking about it. Obsessing about something, some issue or problem in their life. Obsessions take you out of life, you are fully involved in the problem and cannot enjoy life, the present moment.
