One of his most famous works, The Birth of Venus, depicts the Goddess Venus being “born” into the world of man. Unlike the renaissance painters of the time, Botticelli pulled from inspiration from Ancient Greece and their beliefs. Also, Botticelli strayed from painting “realistic beauty” and brought sensuality into his subjects. Everything from the color tones to form placement screams divine beauty. 2. Please give your reaction to the DAVID by Michelangelo. Remember to discuss it using art terminology from class. a. Michelango’s David is jarring at first. A large naked man exposed. But moving past that, you can see the magnitude of effort and talent it had to have had to create this artwork.
