EdTPA Reference Theorist: Barbara Rogof Theory: Intent Community Participation Theory Buzzwords: Collaboration and learning community Classroom Integration: The reason I am attracted to Rogof’s theory is because it is about creating a community within the classroom. In my opinion students should have a say in the themes and direction that units take. I also like that Rogof believes in seizing the moment, a lot of times in classroom discussions things come up and may lead the discussion down a diferent road than the teacher plans. I think it is important to follow along with the students and take the moment to teach or inform them about whatever topic has arisen. I also value the power of collaboration. Students working together is not only an important skill they need to learn but it can sometimes be a beneficial way to have students learning from one another.
