DELTA AIRLINES: FLYING HIGH ABOVE THE REST 2 Abstract This dissertation serves to examine the processes Delta Airlines has utilized to gain a strategic advantage over many of its competitors in the airline industry. The intent is to focus on one of their most successful information systems in use, however, I will also highlight the correlation between this system and others that have been instrumental in their continued success. I will make use of interpreted data along with well-developed research and statistics, in order to build a foundation for my analysis. This serves to allow the reader to formulate their own opinions regarding the subject matter, whether that be in-line or against my own. Furthermore, these opinions are my own and have been propelled through my research. This has given me a jaded view of the information to be presented, in addition to, a dogmatic opinion of Delta Airlines. Objectively, the overall goal is to facilitate thought and enhance discussion over the topic in question.
