The Revolutionary Air Mail Act 2Determined to find a solution to increase the speed through which mail was received, the United States Post Office Department created the commercial aviation industry. During the period ranging from 1918 to 1927 the Post Office operated the countries airmail service. This consisted of establishing flight routes, testing aircraft variations and training pilots under an accident free motto. Although, this was turned over to private organizations in 1927, the department did not cease to provide assistance. Passenger carried flight had not yet reached its full potential, thus providing financial incentives through mail contracts that furthered the growthof an infant commercial aviation industry. Two early Airmail acts that contributed the most to the
