Purpose: To summarize the reasons why Alfred Adler fame did not reach the heights of his peers such as Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung. Thesis: Psychology is a relatively new and young science, even though the likes of Plato, Aristotle and many other ancient philosophers have thought about and discussed the human mind a brain in depth since before the birth of Jesus. When we think of Psychology we think of names like Rene Descartes, Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung and B.F. Skinner. These gentlemen were among the first true “psychologists” inside the science of psychology. Although psychology as a whole is still thought to be a pseudoscience these men are iconic in the realm of psychology, not because their concepts were proven, but because they provided the foundation of what we today know and think about the mind and brain.
