12 ANGRY MEN 2 The 12- Angry men Movie Questions 1. Which juror shows leadership skills? Juror #8. At the beginning of the trial all the jurors are furious and want the boy convicted guilty. However, Juror#8 suggests that they should vote. 2. Moreover, the juror suggest that they should vote via the secret ballot to prevent the other jurors from knowing that it is him who voted not “guilty” (Lumet, 1957). Early in the movie juror # 8 is willing to stand alone even if the other jurors vote against him. At the end of the proceeding, all the jurors vote not guilty, and the boy is free. 3. Which jurors shown referent power? Juror #3, Juror 4, Juror6 and Juror 9. They show the the use of referent power as they question the witnesses and the vote not guilty. Juror 6 shows referent power when he protests against juror 9 (Lumet, 1957). Juror 9 shows referent power when he understands the death scene of the old man. 4. Which jurors are guilty of stereotyping? Every juror except juror#8.In the beginning, all the jurors vote that the boy is guilty except for Juror #8. Juror #3 is irritated by the case and says that the boy is guilty, therefore, should instantly face trial. Jurors #3 is having issues with his son and even torn a picture of him and the son when the judge is declared innocent. Jury Juror #7 hates people from the slums and votes that the boy should face judgement immediately — besides, juror #10 instant votes against the boy on seeing him since he wants to attend a game in the local community. Juror#5 defends the boy since he grew up in the slums as the boy did. 5. Which juror demonstrates expert power? Juror#5, Juror#8. Juror#5 uses his knowledge from the slums to demonstrate how murderers hold the knives in the slums. Besides, the knowledge that Juror#5 has on knives provide some circular evidence that gives a stronger power to innocence verdict.
