A firewall is a piece of software that stands between a computer or network and the Internet. The process of connecting a computer directly to the global network is much like leaving our front door open and allowing outsiders to have access to your system. A firewall purpose is to server as a block to unauthorized requests. Another primary purpose of a firewall is packet filtering. A firewall monitors every packet that passes through inbound and outbound. It analyzes the source and destination and what type of data is within the packet. After that it compares the information to the internet rules set. There are many advanced firewall features that can be configured to create more robust security measures for the firewall. I would first configure Deep Packet Inspection. This technology allows the firewall to really take a close look at the pack that is being passed through. It can look for virus or and
