Professor DamgenIntro to Theatre11 June 2018Urinetown - Play ReviewOn Saturday June 2nd, I attended the theatre production of Urinetown at the Barnes theatre in California State University of San Bernardino. This musical was based in the near future but there has been a terrible water shortage due to a 20-year drought. The people in this musical are forced to pay for their use in the public restroom which is in control by company called, “Urine Good Company”. Anyone who goes against the strict laws that were set will be sent to a mysterious place called Urinetown. During the play the poor people disagree with what they have to do and start a revolt. This revolt was led by young male hero called Bobby Strong who was willing to fight for their freedom. This musical is a satire comedy and was produced by Gregkotis. The first aspect I am going to write about is the acting In Urinetown. The acting in my opinion was very well done. Compared to the rehearsal that I saw it was nothing like it they acted so professionally and never missed a line. In one of the lines at the end of act one he said the wrong word and was able to correct it and made it seem as if that's how it was supposed to happen. In II Act there was this part where Hope was tied up and was supposed to be sad and crying. If I was not sitting in the front row right next to her I would have thought she was actually crying. If I would have probably sat a few rows back I would have probably thought I see tears. However her acting was so good even though she wasn't even moving or speaking just her acting , she was
