HUM-100 Short Answer 8-1-1 Religion in the Media A Wrinkle In Time is a children’s book many have seen as a religious controversy. Author Madeleine L’Engle’s book was a fairytale story of a young girl trying to save her dad from evil forces. L’Engle, is who is Episcopalian, chose to write her novel using religious ideas and mixed science with spirituality, many Christians saw this as unorthodox. Christians saw the novel and its views of the world and other dimensions different from their views in the Bible. The felt the characters, some of which were made to look like Jesus, Ghandi, Einstein, and Buddha was a direct attack on their religion by having these characters stand together against evil, seeming to believe they are equal.
