Liam Harrington ENG2D1 Ms. Cameron Monday June 4th 2018 ISU: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time Mark Haddon , the author of “ The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time” . He uses characterization in Christopher Boone, (the main character) who is described by the author as an awkward boy who has been diagnosed with autism, more specifically, aspergers. Christopher deals with many obstacles that are demonstrated through the novel by his disability, and overcomes them with his intelligence, such as how he is able to do A level maths, which is a level that most kids without disabilities have difficulty with and his view on things in a non- neurotypical manner. The author proves that this is true, within the theme that disabilities are often viewed as barriers, they can actually be a doorway and asset to life. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time ” is about a boy, named Christopher boone who has autism, and more specifically aspergers. Christopher has difficulties with socializing and cannot demonstrate his feelings towards people in a normal manner, such as how he can not hug people, but rather he must spread out his hand and touch the others.
