NETWORK MEMBER 1 Name: N/A Title: N/A Organization: Houston Area Nurse Practitioners (HANP) Academic or Professional: Professional Why I selected this individual and/or team and how they will support my success in the MSN program and as a practicing nurse: This organization is a no brainer since it is local for me and attending events would not be an issue. This organization is committed to professional collaboration and education. This organization would be very helpful for local networking with other NPs in the greater Houston area. Name: N/A Title: N/A Organization: American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA) Academic or Professional: Professional Why I selected this individual and/or team and how they will support my success in the MSN program and as a practicing nurse: This organization is more specific to my field of nursing as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. There will be efficient collaboration with other psychiatric nurse practitioners whom can relate to the specific challenges and issues facing mental health nurse practitioners.
NETWORK MEMBER 3 Name: Robert G Hanks, Title: PhD, FNP-C, RN, Assistant Dean and Department Chair (Family Health) Academic Project Manager - GNE Project, Assistant Professor of Nursing Organization: University of Texas Health Science Center School of Nursing Houston Academic or Professional: Academic Why I selected this individual and/or team and how they will support my success in the MSN program and as a practicing nurse: Dr Hanks has been a valuable resource for me off & on since 2011. He has been an educator in nursing at a masters and post-masters level for many years. With 8 peer-reviewed journal articles, consulting with Dr Hanks for research projects will be of great benefit. I plan to continue seeking his guidance in my ultimate pursuit towards a doctorate.
