Shelteria Duggan COM-263 May 4, 2019 Dr. Cooper Culture and Perception: Mexican Culture is the characteristic and knowledge of a group of people, encompassing language, religion, cuisine, social habits, music and arts. Culture can also be defined as the social behavior and values that one pass down from generation to generation. Society has become a diverse atmosphere over the years and continues to develop in diversity. With the change, society do not always agree with and or accept culture. When society reject the culture experiences and change it increase issues of different stereotypes. Media has brought some advantages and some disadvantages to culture and remains a huge part of society. One advantage and disadvantage are the way the media streams culture dynamics. One culture that is often stereotyped in the media is the Mexican culture. However, without the Mexican culture, there would be and experience of Mexican eateries in America. Media has the ability to compare the culture and label them based on value orientation and how this has or will affect the way communication is done in the culture. This paper will give some insight on the Mexican culture and how the Mexican culture compares to the United States culture and the ways of media and communications. As known the culture of Mexicans is different from the culture of Americans. Differences are between language, food, celebration, and the way each group lives. English is the official language that half of the 50 states have adopted though (Acapulco, 2017). Mexico also does not have a defined language, but it is the most populated Spanish speaking country in the world
