The website for Northeast Orthodontics is utilized by customers to purchase products. A database is required to provide customers with product data and to provide Northeast Orthodontics with customer profile and purchase information. A relational database is necessary for Northeast Orthodontics to process customer orders and to ensure that the correct items are shipped to the correct customers. The database is shared by the website, Orthodontic Lab Services Application (OLSA) and Inventory Management System (ISM).The database schema is defined as the “logical grouping of database objects, such as tables, indexes, views and queries, that are related to each other” (Coronel, 1, p.42). Below is an outline of the main entities or tables, their attributes, data types and character limits. Primary Keys (PK) and Foreign Keys (FK) have been identified as well as the data types and applicable character limits for each attribute.Customers: The orthodontic offices that purchase supplies and orthodontic devices from Northeast Orthodontics.
