The source, the writer and the purpose of the writing This piece of writing was written by John Thornton with the aim of discussing Kongolese history. He wrote this in 1998, and he wanted to discuss the Kongo kingdom and the issues which transpired during the time of Bona Beatriz. John was one of the most experienced writers in relation to Kongo kingdom for close to twenty-five years. Therefore, the research piece depicted the introduction of Catholicism to Kongo and the various issues to do with the slave trade, the rules of the Kongolese catholic slaves and the Haitian revolution. This is a story in the form of a narrative of the events and how they transpired. The accusation of Dona Beatriz Dona Beatriz was accused of witchcraft and heresy. The accusation to me was not right and was not ethical according to society’s norms. This is because everyone had the right to believe in what they saw right.
