LoTF Journal 3 On an island of just children, it’s obvious that the older boys (Ralph, Piggy, and Jack) will want to take charge (and should) considering they are the closest to being adults and more likely to think closer to what an adult would think opposed to the children whose first idea is to play and be afraid of everything. Quick side note, though, this is honestly a terrible group of boys to have on and island together because not only are they no where near able to be completely independent, but they are also very whiny and self centered. With that being said, I believe that Ralph should be the leader of the island because he is the least self-centered and has the most “common sense” of what to do while realizing he is completely stuck. Being a leader requires having a level head, a plan or somewhat of one, and a little bit of optimism. After coming to terms with the fact that an empty island would have to be home for a while, Ralph got to work trying to find other boys who
