Overview of Leader Rosa Louise McCauley Parks was born, February 4, 1913 in Tuskegee, Alabama. Together Rosa and Raymond parks worked in the National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People (NAACP’S) programs. December 1st, 1955, Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on the bus to a white man and was arrested. As a result of the arrest on December 4th, 1955, the Montgomery Bus Boycott was announced and Martin Luther King Jr. was one of the organizers which began the social rights movement.
