(Product) LifeStraw is a water purification system designed for the poorest of the poor. The personal version of LifeStraw works like a large drinking straw and can filter about 1,000 liters. This will last the average person about a year. The family version can purify 18,000 liters and is not portable. This will last the average family approximately three years. LifeStraw requires no electricity which is important considering the average user of the product. LifeStraw will receive carbon credits for reducing emissions as most water is purified by wood-burning fires. These filters have mainly been given away through aid groups after natural disasters and to countries suffering with extreme poverty.
