The possibility of the existence of wormholes in space is a highly debated topic among many scholars today. Using Schwarzschild’s theories, many believe wormholes to be a possibility. Basic theory says that wormholes connect one location of the universe to another location in the universe while bending time. With the opposite actions of black and white holes, wormholes incorporate both of these to suck in the matter through the “throat” and propelled out by the white hole. While many point to no current evidence of wormhole existence, others believe it is an occurrence yet to be scientifically proven. One of the most important aspects of black holes along with wormholes is the Schwarzschild radius. The Schwarzschild radius that is sometimes referred to as the gravitational radius is the area surrounding a black hole that when matter enters cannot escape. The formula derived by Schwarzschild that described the point at which a body would be sucked into the black hole is, 2GMc2 (Reynard, 1). The radius calculates where the outermost boundaries of the black hole would start (Reynard, 1). Once any form of matter enters the Schwarzschild radius of the black hole, the matter will be sucked in by the gravitational pull.
