Discussion 5-4 Ancient World: The Great Pyramid of Giza The Great Pyramids of Giza were built in Egypt during a time of wealth and power. I believe that when the Great Pyramid itself was constructed, it was created as a tomb for the Egyptian Pharaoh Khufu. The pyramid was used as a symbol of his power and wealth through the golden age of Egypt. Khufu articulated robust leadership skills when constructing the pyramid. Khufu’s men were hard work and had much determination, which was the key to completing the pyramid after two decades. Today, scientists are still not sure how the pyramid was built, but can confirm that it took a lot of strength and power to create such a captivating site. I believe the creators felt the need to express themselves using this artifact because the pyramid had an important purpose to the ancient Egyptians, which was based on the beliefs of the ancient Egyptians.
