Stakeholder support is necessary for a successful change proposal project implementation. Consider your internal stakeholders, such as the facility, unit or health care setting where the change process is situated, and your external stakeholders, like an individual or group outside the health care setting. Why is their support necessary to the success of your project, and how you will go about securing that support? It's important to know and identify who the stakeholders are, this then allows for the correct people to be involved and incorporated into the proposed change. The inclusion of stakeholders will enhance the effectiveness of the organizational change and allow for communication and input from more than just one source. This is important as a well-supported process change is there to increase patient safety, care giver safety, and economic gain if proper use of funds are being used and implemented correctly.
