Shapiro Library Orientation NARRATOR: Welcome to the Shapiro Library orientation. During this session, we will discuss what you have access to through the library, how to access these resources, and where you can find help from the library. Through the Shapiro Library, you have access to books and e-books, and databases containing videos, images, statistics, company reports and articles from scholarly journals, magazines, and trade publications. The Shapiro Library homepage is a great access point when you are beginning your research. Let’s take a look at some of the ways you can find information. The Multi-Search tool is the large search box in the middle of the page. Putting key words in this search will find books and e-books, and also searches the majority of our library databases. Based on your key words, you may return results like research starters, scholarly articles, images, and videos. After you have done your initial search, you may limit your results by the type of source, further narrow down by other subjects, and limit to a specific date range.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
