Socrates identifies this in his playAntigone.When Creon, the king of Thebes, buries only one of his nephews with a proper burial and outlawthe burial of the other. Antigone, the sister of Creon’s nephews, objects Creon’s decision andchooses to bury her brother properly. Antigone encourages her sister, Ismene, to help bury herbrother. Ismene, however, decides not to support Antigone and urges her not to do thatconsidering that it is outlawed by the king. However, Antigone neglects Ismene’s advice whichleads to her death. One should be open to family’s advice or it can lead to his/her downfall.Antigone is rebellious, however, Ismene is obedient to Creon. For instance, when Creonasks Antigone that if she had broken the law knowingly, Antigone replies, “Yes. Zeus did notannounce those laws to me. And Justice living with the gods below sent no such laws for men”
