In July 1993, Emilio Galves, distribution manager of The Silver Shoe shops, finished collecting some information concerning transport, manipulation, and storage expenses related with a complex net of possible routes to connect the distribution centres with the warehouses. With that information, Emilio should write a report for the director, recommending the best location to build a third warehouse. The Silver Shoe was the name of a chain of 40 stores specialised in selling shoes. The first units were opened during the fifties in Valencia and Alicante. During the seventies they expanded throughout the country.
