Audience: Every citizen of the United States should be able to read this article because it is meant to inform them of an issue which is pertinent to them. Network Neutrality Protects Our Rights Using the internet, consumers bid on auctions, acquire music, research papers, find friends, watch movies, and so much more. This is possible because all of the companies that make up the internet compete fairly, big or small. Network Neutrality is the practice by which all users of the Internet, from private individuals to small businesses to large corporations, have the same basic access to bandwidth resources. This fosters an effective meritocracy on the internet which is advantageous to consumers.
