1) Medication Order: acetaminophen (Tylenol) 650 mg q4h PRN po 2) g eneric name: acetaminophen 3) T rade name: Tylenol 4) Maximum Safe Dose in 24 hours: 4000 mg 5) Therapeutic class/Pharmacologic classification: Analgesics/Para-aminophenol derivatives 6) Indication: Mild pain or fever 7) Black Box Warning: Drug can cause acute liver failure , which may require a liver transplant or cause death. 8) Common Adverse Reactions: Agitation, anxiety, fatigue, headache, insomnia, pyrexia, hypertension, hypotension, peripheral edema, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, oliguria 9) Life Threatening Adverse Reactions: leukopenia, neutropenia, pancytopenia, anemia.
