The purpose of this paper is to discuss a few forms of discrimination that was previously in place that are now prohibited by the Supreme Court. What is discrimination? Discrimination is treating, or proposing to treat, someone unfavorably because of a personal characteristic protected by law (Discrimination and Harassment At The Workplace. (n.d.). The U.S Supreme court has now declared that all laws that are protection employees from discrimination to be unconstitutional and that employees could adopt their own policies prohibiting all forms of discrimination. A few forms of discrimination that we will be discussing will be: Equal Pay discrimination, Age discrimination, Racial discrimination, and LGBT discrimination. Equal pay discrimination is the discrimination of pay between two individuals to where for the same job being performed by two individuals one is getting payed more than the other. In some cases, Equal pay discrimination is mostly between a man and a woman preforming the same exact job, yet the man is getting paid more than the woman. Prohibiting this form of discrimination will show that both qualified employees are getting paid by there performance and knowledge and being paid equally. Which would raise productivity in those whom at one time were getting paid less than a counterpart that are performing the same job. Age discrimination is a party being discriminated against by their age. Previously the age discrimination was towards people in an older age range, but it did begin to turn to towards the younger generation. Prohibiting this form of discrimination can be beneficial for a company by having a mix of ages in one place together older employees can show the younger employees the way things are done and when it comes to new updates to new technology, the younger generation can assist in them adapting. Racial discrimination is a person being treated differently for their Racial backgrounds. An example of this two people going for an interview one is white and the other is a person of a
different race. Yet both having equal background the interviewee that is white gets the job over the interviewee of the different race. There are also examples of the other interviewee being
