I have always considered my eating habits to be pretty healthy and that I get an adequate amount of exercise on a weekly basis. This assignment has allowed me to see what I have been doing right and what I have been lacking. I used SuperTracker for about two weeks. My eating habits and exercise is more or less the same each week. In my SuperTracker profile, I have entered in my age (26), height (4’11”), and weight (92 lbs.). On top of maintaining my weight, I have set the following five goals for myself: physical activity goal of 300 min/week, meet target for food groups: vegetables, dairy, protein, and grains. I chose to set those five goals because I wanted to see if I meet the recommended amount of exercise and target for those food groups on a weekly basis.According to the My Plate System, the weekly recommended amount of physical activity for an adult should be at least 2 hours and 30 minutes of moderate activity or 1 hours and 15 minutes vigorous activity plus strengthening activity at least 2 days a week. In addition, the physical activity tracker on SuperTracker advises that 300+ minutes of weekly physical activity will help keep weight off and have extensive health benefits. After using SuperTracker for about two weeks, I have learned that I meet more than the recommended amount of physical activity and strengthening activity on a weekly basis. Rather than just meeting my goal of 300 min/week, I actually reach about 500 min/week of physical activity and 4 days of muscle strengthening instead of 2 days. My outcome is the result of visiting the gym on a daily basis. On the days that I have work, I still make time go to the gym when I get off of work. Some days I work on upper body or lower body muscle strengthening, every other day I work on cardio on the machines, and other days I take a spin class or a yoga class.
