Exam #2 Review Sheet I compiled this list by skimming through the book and our lectures since the first exam of the semester. The majority of test questions will come from concepts covered in this outline. However, EVERYTHING we’ve covered, including lab exercises is fair game. I will expect that you can do simple calculations and be able to convert units within systems (seconds to minutes, kilograms to grams, kilometers to meters, etc.). You should also know values of important variables such as the dry adiabatic and moist adiabatic lapse rates. Study hard and good luck on the exam! Chapter 6: Surface Patterns of Pressure and Wind What is air pressure? Pressure tendency and its correlation to weather Why we correct surface pressures to sea-level The Pressure Gradient Force (PGF) *What is it? *How does it influence atmospheric flow? The Coriolis Force: *How is it generated? *How does it affect atmospheric motion?
